Let's take it one step further when planning. The engaged couple has decided on burgundy dresses for the bridal party and men will have will wear gray. These two colors are popular in winter time weddings. The shower is a wonderful time to express these colors in decor.

Think about a tablecloth or two using the burgundy or gray color. Accent the tablecloth with napkins, favors, flowers, and other accessories using one or other other colors. Bring in white as the traditional color.

Fresh flowers always are attractive, but also consider making an artificial arrangement to give to the bride after the shower. Great keepsake for her living space after the wedding.

I wanted to share with you a dynamite Web site that will give you not only colors to think about for a bridal shower, but also wedding flowers and reception ideas.

Below is a simple decoration I used for a bridal shower a few of us gave my niece. Her main colors were white and a soft light green. I didn't want to over power the color scheme with green, so I accented the decorating with the green tone.

Bridal Shower Decoration
The decorations are on an old buffet. I put a full length white lace fabric scarf across the buffet. Notice the three candles in the back. The larger width candle is in the center, with the two narrow candles of either side. This is what I call a back drop for decorating.

I added two white candles on the right hand side, but angled them to create an overall look. On the left hand side is a clear glass candle holder that hold tea candles.

Notice in front of the back drop candles is a simple wedding decoration, with a small bride and groom glass on either side. The small white candles in the light green tone holders reminds everyone of the bride's color scheme. Soap was individually wrapped with a tiny ribbon. The groom's mother made these, and each shower guest were given a soap and a small green candle.
