Carpet Can Create Warmth In Rooms
Carpet can create a warm feeling in any room. Today there
are many different styles and varieties available to all of us.
Blending in your flooring with the walls and other accents,
creates an overall balance to a living area. Matching
the color tones of your floor with your walls is so important
as well as blending in bold and softer shades. I wanted to show
you a few different varieties of carpets that may give you some
ideas for getting the most out of your investment.
There are a couple of things I like to consider when helping
someone or purchasing carpet for my own house.
- Quality
- Color schemes
- Traffic - how much daily use?
- Blending in different colors in different rooms.
- Price
- Picking out the right style and type.
These six items are important aspects to consider when replacing
or purchasing new rugs for any room. One of the first steps you
should think about is what type of this particular accent would
fit your household.
This applies no matter if you are decorating a camp, cottage,
beach house, condo, or a regular home. Below are a few samples.
Ah, the famous
shag rug! The Shag has come and gone and come back again
in interior decorating. Many of you remember the notorious orange shag rug, and some
of you may still have this style in a room. If it is in good shape, keep it and decorate
using the shag as your base foundation color. Orange, yellow, and neutral tones are very
popular today, and blending in some nice shades of greens or blues, and tans or taupe will accent
this rug wonderfully. The shag can be put as an accent rug on top as hardwoods as well.
Berber rugs are one of the most popular floorings today. They come in
a variety of different colors and are considered very durable for high traffic areas.
Berber rugs have tightly woven threads and material which allows for a long lasting
flooring. One of my favorites is to take a
neutral berber carpet
and use it in a living or family room space. These two areas are usually high traffic areas. The Berber
also will work as a great accent rug underneath furniture. We have a large piece of berber
carpet underneath a pool table. Colored berber rugs create a great blend with your base
foundation color of your walls. The colored berber also allows you to bring in secondary
colors. In the blue rug above, this is a great color to blend in with other accents such as
furniture and also your accessories.
This photo above is of a
standard rug many of us have in our living spaces. There
are many styles, different grades, and colors available to us. This type of rug is what
I call the universal and most popular rug. The difference in grades of this rug will vary
due to the tightness of the threads and length. This style is great for any room and is also
a durable flooring. You can create a bold or soft tone room using this type of flooring.
The last photo is of a sample of an
indoor outdoor flooring. This style is great for decks, outdoor or
screened in porches, indoor pool areas, and in game rooms. The green color works great in
area that you want to create a little
outdoor look and feel.
The indoor outdoor rug is also one of the least expensive rugs, but may have to be changed out more
often than other carpets.
The above samples can give you some ideas of different styles of rugs that are available today
for you and your family to enjoy.
Take the time to research what type of flooring would suit you,
and also the quality and long term investment for your living space. Carpets do create a warmth
in a room as well as giving the room an overall balance.
