Each year I like to create a little different mood for the holiday table. It will depend on what theme I use in the dining room. In the past, I have had a country Christmas decorating theme, and blended it with a Christmas place setting idea.
Your goal at the holidays is not only to have a wonderful time with family and friends, but to create an atmosphere that reflects your personality, faith, and traditions. I wanted to share with you some different ideas to think about when creating your own Christmas place setting for the holiday season.

The first two pictures gives you a little different look and feel. The first photo is typical large table setting during the holidays. This reminds me so much of my childhood and large family gatherings. It has an eloquent touch, yet a simplicity about the turkey name tags.
The second photo adds an informal look. I love the idea of small favors on the table. This favor is simple with candy canes at each place setting. A little touch of red holly berries and a twig of pine polish off the favor. Inexpensive idea for the holiday season.

The first photo depict the rich colors of a red and gold theme holiday. Wonderful idea if your table is near a fireplace. The gold colored stockings compliment the entire place setting. The red napkins and plates accents the red candles. Another touch of eloquence and style.
The second photo is simple and done so you can enjoy all aspects of the table. Red glasses and napkins highlight the red and white table. The Christmas plates add to the simplicity of the table. White flowers create a clean and crisp look. Great idea and not a lot of work.

Ah, the country style table. These next two pictures are of the same table, just a different angle. Fully decorated, showing off the tables wood. The fireplace in the background is simple, and accents the colors of the napkins. Hum, I can picture the table and decor in a mountain cabin, farm, or other natural settings.

Warm weather is the theme of the next two pictures. Obviously one would have to live in a sub-tropical or tropical climate to have their Christmas outdoors. The lawn in the first photo creates the atmosphere of the holiday table. Plush and green, the red tablecloth and plates accents the lawn. White chairs provide the ideal touch to the outdoor table.
The beach comes to mind immediately when I look at the next photo. The white and red colors and delicious looking food, gives you the feel of somewhere on the beach in a tropical location.

Another simple idea was done in the second picture. Pretty bulbs of red and white are put near each place setting. The bulbs accent the rest of the decor on the table. A white tablecloth can create a formal look.
The apple has shades similar to the plate. Adding another item to the table that has the same tone as a plate, balances out the color scheme.
The 12 photos above are just a small example of the possibilities you have to decorate your holiday or Christmas place setting.
Go with your colors and themes and create a holiday table that will invite your family and friends to sit down and enjoy.
