A Dolphin Theme in a bathroom is a great way to display your love of these species.

Our oldest daughter has always had a love of these beautiful sea mammal. She lives in an apartment and can't paint her walls. This is the beauty of decorating with accents and accessories.

She has kept her whole apartment very simple but with an entire dolphin theme throughout. She doesn't have a lot of space, but was able to take each room and incorporate this theme with pictures, collectables, and other accessories.

Like so many of us she is on a budget. Her walls are painted in a light neutral tone and white. She has taken these neutral colors and played off the colors of the sea and sand throughout her apartment.

I wanted to focus in on her bathroom and how she took simple accessories and made the room show her love of these species. Of course you can take any theme if you cannot paint or wallpaper your wall. It's simple. Take those collectables and items you enjoy and incorporate them in your accents and accessories throughout the living space.
















This is a picture of her shower curtain. The curtain is the focal point of the bathroom as you walk in. It is inexpensive and sets the mood and tone of the room. She used the colors of the shower curtain to bring in other accessories. The photo above gives you an idea how the main part of her bathroom looks.

Notice how she has two sets of towels. One set depicts this particular theme, while the other set matches in the blue tones. The picture on the wall is of an ocean scene. She has a matching rug in front of her bathtub and shower. I love the way the mirror reflects the shower curtain.













Candles on top of the commode with a couple of decorative items create a great mood as well as warmth in the room. I like how she blended in the color of the candles with the shower curtain. She is big on scented candles, and the candles adds to the overall dolphin, ocean, and even tropical themes.

The last picture is of part of her counter top. She displays the dolphin theme with different dolphin accessories, such as a soap dish, toothbrush and toothpaste holder, and also a decorative shell bowl. All of these simple ideas can bring about a great look without spending a lot of money. This is a great looking shower curtain with a simple look and feel on it. The rest of her apartment is accented with ocean pictures that her father has taken. She loves these pictures not only to incorporate in her apartment theme, but also the pictures taken by Tom gives her a warm family feeling as well. Dish towels and paper towel holders are other items that you can build your theme with. She didn't go overboard with dolphins all over. She blended in blue tones with napkins and placemats in the dining area, as well as different beach and Caribbean colors.

This theme idea or taking anything you enjoy can be easy to decorate. Use your foundation color of your room and work off that color in accents and accessories. Our daughter's apartment is one she can come home to after a long day of work, and sit and relax in a theme she truly loves.
