Home Office - Make The Room Inviting
Your
home office should reflect your own personality, and also
be a positive environment. More and more people today
work out of their own living space. This room or part of a room should
be decorated to result in a productive area. I work full time from
an area I have made in our kitchen. I take full pride in this small
space and have decorated to blend in with the rest of the kitchen, but
yet shows my own style when working. I wanted to share with you some
simple tips on how to take your home office and create an inviting
atmosphere for you to increase your productivity.
The first step if your are going to have an office in a living
space is to find the ideal place. A bedroom shouldn't be your
office if at all possible. Keep your relaxation room such as a
bedroom and your work area separate. Make your space personal and
meaningful. You will have what you need to get your day to day
or part time operations done, but bring in those motivational
items that will increase the adrenaline to succeed.
Below are a couple of simple illustrations that will give you
some ideas of how you can create your own working area.

The first illustration shows you a basic office area. The desk is a focal
point of the room. There are five pictures hanging above, which could have
some scenic, nature, or family photos. There are two filing cabinets
are either side of the desk. A bulletin board is above one filing
cabinet to post important papers and notes. A book shelf is above
the desk, and a decorative pot or container fills out the work area.
The room is painted at the bottom in a white, and the top half is a warm yellow color.
This illustration depict some great colors for a mans office or home study area.
The jewel tones are rich and the area is set up so everything is easily accessible.
The colors blend in well and the shelf above the desk consists of books, a picture,
and a couple of pots. A cactus or two would be well suited for this masculine office
area. The
jewel tones in a home office
create a great look.
The final picture is putting a little bit of you into your work area. Add a decorative rug
and a chair to create a warm environment. Put your favorite pictures and memorable
collectables on a shelf. Create a work area that reflects you.
If you work out of the home full time or part time, create an office or work area
that is inviting. Here are a few
ideas for arranging your collectables.
My work area is one of motivational sayings, collectable items,
pictures, plants and my focal point, my laptop. Your office is a place that
should reflect your own personality and also a relaxing atmosphere to be
productive. I look forward to going to work everyday and writing for you, and
a part of that stems from the warm feeling I have when I enter my little
office. If you are working out of your house, apartment or condo, get a little creative and
make your day to day operations pleasant and successful.
