A Picture Of Nature Creates A Great Decor For A RoomIf you stop to think about it, there are so many natural colors in nature. Starting with earth tones, blue, green, orange, yellows and all the jewel shades. This is a great idea also for doing a camp, beach house, a child's room, and any other type of room. Throughout our home I have used Tom, my husbands photography and displayed the photos with frames and incorporated matching colors of the foundation or wall paint. This is something you can do with any picture of nature. Take the photo and create an atmosphere in the room that really takes you right into nature. Below are a couple of ideas on how to take a favorite photo, and bring a room to life. ![]() For me, I like the idea of going into a warm lighter green tone from the pine needles of the pine trees. The blue sky is another option for the walls and ceiling. Lets take the two different possibilities and see what we can do with these colors. For example, we can take a bedroom and paint the walls in the light green tones. From the picture, the trim or wood work could be done in a white or a natural wood tone. The crisp look of the mountains on a clear day represent the same feeling as the walls and trim. The ceiling could be painted in the white, or consider bringing in a very light and soft neutral tone to go along with the same color on the wood work. These tones can accent the warm green walls. A bedspread or comforter of plaids or stipes with blue, different green tones, and neutrals would work well. Would you do something different with the bedspread? The furniture colors could be in pine tones to create a mountain feel. Floors can be done in wood or a nice neutral, or deeper green carpet. Window treatments can be in a solid tone of a darker green or even a rich blue tone. This would blend real well with the picture. You can actually bring in some yellow tones or consider doing a nature border. There are many wallpaper borders available today that would compliment the focal point of the mountain photo. You can think of going rustic or keep it crisp and clean. This is the beauty of taking a nature photo and creating a room around it. Blending in the different colors in your accents and accessories allows you to bring out the colors in the photo. An accent light featuring the photo would really set the room off. Of course you could have a mural along a single wall. Another idea is to paint one wall in one color and the other three walls in a base foundation color. The one wall will act as an complimentary tone. I would go a step further and add a little green to the sponge colors. If sponging the ceiling isn't right for you, sponge the walls in these color tones. You can even sponge just one wall and compliment the sponged wall with a solid blue on the other three walls. Ah, there are so many options using these colors. I love to play around with the colors before I decide on exactly the right tones. If you don't have good visionary skills, take some crayons and work with the colors. This is a great way to see what colors will blend together. Of course you can use paint samples also. Another idea is to wallpaper all or one of the walls. Look around to see what type of wallpaper would match the photo. If you decide on wallpaper, blend in your bedspread and curtain colors with the theme of the wallpaper. Once again with the blue primary color, you could put earth tone color for the carpet, or even a deeper blue, or a rich hardwood. If you have hardwoods, accent the nature look with matching accessory rugs.
