Pillows - Colorful Fabrics Can Balance A Room

Can you believe over the years how fabrics and colors have changed with this type of accessory?

I love using these accessories to balance a room and add that little extra color.

Today, this accessory comes in all different shapes and textures.

I wanted to share with you some simple ideas of how to incorporate this accessory in any room in your living space.

Pillows create a sense of warmth and coziness in a room. Below are eight different photos of these accessories and a couple ideas for you. Notice how they are odd numbers.













Three blue pillows create a great look on a couch or bed. The stripe fabric is great for a variety of different looks you are trying to accomplish. Are you looking for a specific brand or style? Check out Amazon's pillow and see if you can find what you are looking for.

This is a really cool pirate pillow that can be personalized. Great for kids room, beach house, or condo. A masculine, denim, informal, or beach look. The squishy fabric adds a whole new dimension to decorating today.

Notice how I angled the two larger accessories with the squishy fabric in the middle. Easy to do with a great look.

Ah, the fish as a focal point is a great way to bring out color and a theme.

The fish is perched up on both squishy pillows. The orange color is highlighted in two different fabrics. The light lime color in the third fabric allows you to bring in this color in other accents and accessories or even a foundation color. A great look for a beach or tropical feel.

The stars and moon theme is a hot theme today. There are so many different accessories that match this particular theme.













Light and dark blues and yellows can be used as the foundation colors. The rich blue star squishy fabric along with the moon gives a room that added punch of color and theme. Once again I have situated them in a series of three. The bright yellow fabric adds to this theme a bed, chair, or couch.

In our Nature Store, we have some unique decorative pillows for you. Each pillow is an original photo that Tom has taken. This accessory is great for a camp or cabin decor. Bring your outside inside and decorative with the look of nature.

Two blue soft tones are wonderful for a boy's room, beach house, and a blueberry theme. The different fabric and tones create a warm feel to any room.

I put the larger accessory in a diamond shape and did a vertical look with the two squishy fabrics. A little different twist, but a simple idea for a unique appearance.

Caribbean and tropical colors are very much in today. Even if you live in a colder climate, you can create any room using these bright colors. In this photo I used five different of these accessories and did a simple formation illustrating each color tone. Believe it or not, the way these accessories are set up is so similar to the way you plan for designing a garden or landscape.













In this picture I took the same Caribbean feel and rearranged the five squishy pillows to show the tropical colors. Using these color tones gives you so many different ideas for the rest of the room, and other rooms close by. I also like to take these accessories and stack them to create another different look. Just a simple idea for you.













Another popular theme today is the jungle or safari look. This is a great look for any room. The photo shows you another series of three, plus the background fabric done in a couple of the safari colors. Easy to do and looks great! The last picture is of a chair with two animal prints on either side of a throw blanket. I did this in a recliner, but will work on a rocking chair, bench, or other accent. The fabric of the animals along with the blanket gives a focal point to a room.
