I am decorating my living room in a Western Theme. Should I do the den in the same theme?

Decorating Your Living Room And Den In Western Theme
by: Kimberly

Hi Laura, Kimberly here from interior-decorating-ideas-for-you. Thank you for asking the question on doing a western theme in both your living room and den. This is a very good question, and the answer is really up to you. A couple of things to think about when combining two rooms with one theme.

1. Are the rooms close together. If they are and flooring and walls are already done, does a western theme fit into each of the rooms.

2. If you already have existing accents and accessories, would they work and can you incorporate them into the western theme?

Personally, I recommend to use your own personality, what you like, and go with it. Your main goal is to make sure that both rooms balance with color, texture, and accents.

Using western colors you will be open to a lot of different color tones and shades. If you haven't done anything to your walls yet, compliment both rooms using either one color and different shades in each room.

Another option is to take two main colors of a western look and put one in the living room and the other in the den. Your accents such as furniture, curtains and rugs will compliment the western colors. Use accents in both rooms that reflect the western theme. Shelves with your collectables, western style throw blankets and pillows. There is a lot you can do with this style theme.

If you like the western theme and it will work for you, go ahead and do both rooms with the western theme. Anything today goes with interior decorating as long as the rooms blend together and you are satisfied.

I hope this helps, and if you need more suggestions on what type of paint, accents, or accessories to use for the western theme, ask right her and myself or others would be happy to help you. Thanks again Laura for asking the question on your western theme. Ask anytime and have a great day!
