Silk Flower Arrangements, Discount And Bulk To Decorate

A Silk flower arrangement is a great way to decorate a room or several rooms. One of the problems I think all of us run into is budgeting different indoor projects. I am real big on searching for discount and bulk items when decorating. I am also very conscious of quality, not just quantity.

There are many different discount and bulk stores available to us today. Look for the sales and think about bulk, and also wholesale places to shop. Many times wholesale dealers provide you with wonderful prices on a lot of interior decorating decor.

I wanted to share with you five ideas on how to take silk flowers and do simple arrangements using different items you may had around the house. I love decorating this way and it saves money. I also got these flowers and greenery at a discount place. Shopping for bulk at wholesale places is a great idea for weddings, or a particular theme such as tropical.

Brides today are opting for silk or artificial flowers. A couple of reasons are cost, and wanting to have those memories of that special day in their living space all the time. Below are some inexpensive ideas to give an accent such as a hutch or table a new look.

Wooden Bowl With Eloquent Flowers
This first arrangement I put together in about five minutes. I wanted just the right bowl to create a look that complimented the silk flowers. The bowl was hand crafted by a close friend. The bigger brown flower works great when matching wood tones with accessories.

The flowers and accents are in neutral colors and add a modern or formal to this arrangement. I added one green leaf. Adding a different color besides neutrals or base color will accomplishment that. Bringing in one complimentary color is a great way to expand the options to use this arrangement in different rooms. This is a great piece for a variety of decorating styles.

Small Vases With Flowers And Candles

I love using candle and candle holders. Candles and holders create a great addition with a silk arrangement. This accessory is so easy to do and the goal is to blend the colors of your flowers, greenery, and other stalks with the candle and holder. The bottles are old and I have had them in a box for several years.

Tom could tell you I am known to hang onto things for years. If you enjoy decorating, this can work out great to save money, and also create several different items to change out periodically. The flowers are soft and blend in well with the color of the candles and holder. This look could go in a room with a variety of different themes.

Fall Flower Arrangement
Ah, the fall arrangement. A lot of people like to decorate around their living space when the air becomes crisp outside. The lazy summer days have come to an end and a new cooler seasons begins.

The fabric is a simple pattern that my mom embroidered for Tom and I. Orange leaves are scattered throughout this tablecloth. I folded the tablecloth in half to fit on the hutch. The cone basket adds flavor to the fall season. The multi colored silk flowers create a definite autumn feel in the room. A couple of pumpkin candles along with a wooden sign adds a special touch. The two orange taller candles balance the entire piece. The small black accent lamp creates the upcoming Halloween season. Easy and to create and a new look for a few months.

Berries And Old Burgundy Pitcher
The rich old burgundy pitcher is the focal point of this arrangement. I have had this pitcher for years with other matching dishes. I keep them stored away until I get into a decorating mode. The berries and the lighter green tone flowers create a bold yet rich look.

Small gold tone candle holders blend in with great with the yellow berries. The burgundy candles compliment the the nostalgic pitcher. We have a jewel tone couch of burgundy tones, greens, and other colors in our family room. This arrangement was just the right thing the room needed. Another easy accessory to create.

Green Vase And One Stem And Flowers
The last picture took me a couple of minutes to do. The green vase was perfect to take the single stem of flowers and tropical greenery out of the above arrangement. This is a great small accessory that can brighten up any piece of furniture or room.

All of these silk flower arrangements are easy to do using items you already have around the house. Cost to this project, about $28.00. Labor, I had a ball doing this and creating a different look for each one. Time it took to be a little creative, find the accessories and put them together, 45 minutes.

One of the easiest ways to clean silk flowers is to take paper towels with warm water and soap and wash the leaves, greenery, and stalks. If this won't work for your style of flowers, a small spray water bottle with warm water will work. Lightly spray the arrangement. Either of these cleaning methods should be done periodically to keep your arrangement looking new.

Silk flower arranging doesn't have to be expensive. Buy the materials bulk at discount and wholesale places can save you money and time. The result, a small new look in four different rooms, and things you can keep for as long as you want.
